Lecture and Book Signing by CHAPS

In conjunction with the “War & Peace on the Rio Grande, 1861-1867” exhibit, Russell K. Skowronek, Christoper L. Miller, and Roseann Bach-Garza, co-authors of “Blue and Gray on the Border: The Rio Grande Valley Civil War Trail” and “The Civil War on the Rio Grande, 1846-1876” will talk about their participation in this project. The speakers will present their own Civil War-related specialties; research on colored troops, the economy of the region and battlefield archeology.
Special Guest, Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr., will be on hand to present two Legislative Resolutions and to recognize CHAPS for winning the Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation last year – the state’s premier award for historic preservation.
