The Study of Mars
Join us on Saturday, March 12 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) to learn about areology — the study of Mars!
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun, making it our planetary neighbor. It’s nicknamed the “Red Planet” because of its color, which is a result of the planet being covered in iron oxide. Since the late 1990s, scientists have sent rovers to navigate and study the rocky (and dusty) terrain of Mars.
LAUNCHPAD PROTOSTARS sessions include hands-on activities and introductory space science lessons for the entire family to enjoy. Educational lessons are led by our experienced team of NASA Solar System Ambassador partners.
