This exhibition was first displayed in San Benito’s Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center in 2015. Sam Rawls and Melissa Vega first curated the exhibit while studying at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Since then, it has been hosted in different locations in Rio Grande Valley. Many talented women artists have participated in this exhibition both locally and internationally. On March 2022, the show returned after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic with over twenty women artists. This exhibition will be co-curated by Samantha Rawls and Ruby E. Garza. Rawls is a recent Masters in Fine Arts graduate from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She specializes in painting figurative artwork with oil, gouache, and in watercolor. Garza owns La Chicharra Art studio, specializing in printmaking and painting.
