Background

The Brownsville Sports Park is a 120-acre regional park, the largest of its kind in the Rio Grande Valley, is home to many premier sports facilities and complexes, hosting a premier championship stadium, multiuse fields, softball complex, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, Skate Park, BMX track, and indoor gym (FEMA dome). Many recreational amenities enhance the lives of Brownsville residents and visitors, providing a safe, family-friendly, multi-functional, full-service facility for use in a wide range of events, entertainment, and recreational activities year-round. Amenities include hiking trails, outdoor exercise stations, pavilions, restrooms and playgrounds interspersed amongst the various sports facilities; as well as a lake, complete with boardwalks and boat ramp located on the western portion of the property surrounded by the stadium, softball, and volleyball facilities.  In addition to the various recreation and sport options offered within this park, this is a specialized venue for participants and fans of various organized sports and home to the most competitive sports leagues for athletes of all ages. The park has proudly hosted TAAF Adult Flag Football State Championship Tournaments, Texas UIL Regional Soccer Semi-Finals, the Jackie Robinson Little League World Series, the Texas State Police Olympics, and the Guinness World Records Largest Zumba Class, National Night Out and popular wrestling and running events.  The Brownsville Sports Park is a significant contributor to the quality of life in Brownsville and plays a large role in the area of social and economic impact for the community. Nowhere else in temperate Rio Grande Valley will you find a sports complex that can host multiday tournaments, entertainment fairs, local and international championships, a full season of home games for the local amateur National Premiere Soccer League (NPSL) FC Brownsville Coyotes Soccer team, regular leagues, tournaments, wrestling and musical concerts. The sports park also features room for upwards of 5,000 guests for any event, convention, trade show, corporate retreats, company sports days and so much more.
