A Fair Way To Spend The Day

If you like to play golf, then Brownsville is the place for you. We have three magnificent spots open to the public. These beautiful golf courses wind along the Rio Grande River, offering majestic views and challenging pars at reasonable rates.

The River Bend Resort and Golf Club feature one of the most unique Championship 18-hole golf courses in the Rio Grande Valley. It’s littered with 25-year-old oak trees, immaculate manicuring, quick greens, and masterful design. They have private parking for RV’s if you’re on a cross country trek. The 18th hole offers a great photo opportunity to make your friends jealous as magnificent freshwater banks surround it along both sides of the fairway.

The Valley International Country Club, or the VICC as the locals call it, is a golf sanctuary in Northwest Brownsville. Its Championship course is demanding enough to challenge even the most skilled players. Their 4th hole, a breezy 422-yard, par-4, is arguably the most
difficult in town. Beginners can work on their game, too, at the Executive Par-3 nine-hole course. And, everyone can enjoy the Wellness Center fitness machines and browse the latest gear at the Pro Shop.

The Brownsville Golf Center is open 363 days a year (closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving) is a great course for casual players to enjoy. The fairways are wide open, and the large greens offer a generous target for the wayward approach shot. There is some challenge as water does come into play on most holes. Youngsters are always welcome. Modest prices and their delicious Jumbo Hot Dogs make the BGC a great family experience.

Brownsville’s year-round semi-tropical climate makes every day a great day to play one of the magnificent courses. If you’re in town during Charro Days, the Annual Charro Days Golf Tourney – the oldest in the Rio Grande Valley – tees off the festivities.
